Hasanistanball (comic)
Hasanistanball was a countryball-inspired online comic series by Hasan Çakar described as "Hasanistan's national comic,[1] starting on 31 December 2012[1] and last on published 27 January 2013 with a total of eight numbered episodes.[2] The comic series featured anthropomorphic balls representing Hasanistan and other countries (including some micronations from the MicroWikia community) in random situations as comedy sketches. The comic had an episodic format and no overarching story, with the exception of Episode 6 and Episode 7 which was a two-part story about Hasanistanball being chased by Russiaball.[3][4] Unlike typical countryball comics, the series did not usually feature political themes related to either internal Hasanistani politics or geopolitics.
Characters
Hasanistanball
The eponymous character representing Hasanistan,[1] Hasanistanball appears in every published episode of the series.[5][6][7][8][8][9][3][4][2] Despite this, he is only a main character in Episode 6 and 7 and is a supporting character in his other appearances. Hasanistanball occasionally wears a fez in the series[5][8] but an official rendition of him published on the Hasanistani national website features him wearing a Central Asian-style taqiyah cap. The personality of Hasanistanball is shown to mischievous and impolite in some of the episodes, such as telling Whiteball to go away because he didn't know him in Episode 2[6] and insulting Daltonball without provocation in Episode 4.[8] Despite insulting Daltonball in Episode 4, it is implied the two are friends because Daltonball gifted Hasanistanball a fez in Episode 1.[5]
In his first appearance, Hasanistanball surrenders a gifted fez from Daltonball to Tajikistanball after being threatened with a nuclear bomb.[5] In Episode 2, he questions the identity of Whiteball and tells him to go away when he doesn't know.[6] He later serves as a referee in a football game involving Mahusetball and Niclogiaball in Episode 3, initially giving Mahusetball a yellow card after he tackles Niclogiaball but also giving Niclogiaball a yellow card after he protests against Hasanistanball not giving him a red card which would result in Mahusetball being expelled from the game. Niclogiaball proceeds to attack Mahusetball until Hasanistanball intervenes and attacks Niclogiaball with a glass bottle.[7] Hasanistanball briefly appears at the beginning of Episode 4, replying to Daltonball's greeting by saying "Hi Chickenboy" in reference to the chicken on Dalton's flag.[8] He also appeared in Episode 8, the last published Hasanistanball comic, where he is the first person to listen to Mouziloball's Microvision song and questions whether it is autotuned.[2]
The main story arc featuring Hasanistanball was the two-party story in Episode 6 and 7. Hasanistanball comes across a countryball who resembles Daltonball, trying to elicit a response. Hasanistanball eventually rolls into the unidentified countryball, presumably waking them up from their sleep and revealing them to be Russiaball. Russsiaball is enraged by Hasanistanball bothering him and begins to chase him. Eventually, Hasanistanball fights back and defeats Russiaball. Russiaball transforms into Soviet Unionball and vows revenge.[3][4]

Hasanistanball features in a comic by the Microball Times published in June 2013, alongside Akharnesball, threatening Mahusetball to "Remove Eniak".[10]
Micronational characters
- Daltonball is a secondary character in Hasanistanball representing the English micronation Dalton.[1] Daltonball is one of the most prominent secondary characters in the series and directly appears in the first and fourth episodes, alongside a cameo appearance in the second episode and a reference in the sixth episode. Daltonball's prominence is a tribute to the Daltonese Microball series, which inspired Hasanistanball.[1] In Episode 1, Daltonball confronts Tajikistanball over stealing a fez he gifted to Hasanistanball but is shocked to learn he owns a nuclear bomb.[5] During Episode 4, Daltonball gets annoyed after Hasanistanball and Niclogiaball mock the chicken on his flag and later tortures and beheads Niclogiaball at the end of episode.[8] His cameo appearance in Episode 2 features Daltonball in a spaceship in the background saying "Dalton go space" in reference to the "Poland cannot into space" meme from the original countryballs.[6] Russiaball is mistaken for Daltonball by Hasanistanball in Episode 6.[3]
- Niclogiaball, representing the Finnish micronation Niclogia, features prominently in the Hasanistanball series as a semi-antagonistic "punching bag" character who gets attacked and defeated by the characters. Niclogiaball first appeared in Episode 3, playing a football match with Mahusetball where Hasanistanball serves as the referee. After a controversial decision by Hasanistanball to not eject Mahusetball from the game after a tackle and later recieving his own yellow card, Niclogiaball attacks Mahusetball which triggers Hasanistanball to intervene and knock him out with a glass bottle.[7] In Episode 4, Niclogiaball mocks Daltonball for the chicken on his flag and eventually later gets tortured and beheaded by him in revenge.[8]
