Hasani people

The Hasanis (Hasani: Hasaniler) are an Oghuz Turkic ethno-cultural group or microethnicity with communities distributed across Eurasia.

The Hasanis claim to be the descendants of the Turkmen tribes affiliated with the Seljuk Empire, who mostly migrated from Central Asia to the Middle East during the Medieval period, but also have some affinities with the Ottoman Turks and other post-Seljuk Turkic petty kingdoms. The Hasani government generally considers Oghuz Turkic populations in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other parts of Central Asia as Hasanis, although these claims are controversial for including migrants and deportees from other parts of the former Soviet Union, as well as some segments of Anatolian Turkish and Oghuz Turkic populations in Arabia and the Balkans.
