The 2020 Hasani political crisis is was political crisis within Hasanistan between 2 March 2020 and 26 May 2020, initially beginning over the controversial merger with Principality of Montescano and other Pavlovian Union member states to form the Tsardom of Montescano. The crisis culminated in the unilateral secessio

The crisis began on 7 March 2020, following the aftermath of the passage of the Tsardom of Pavlov Act which declared that Hasanistan was to merge with Montescano and other Pavlovian Union member states to re-establish Pavlov in May 2020, after Prime Minister Hasan Çakar announced his intention to resign in opposition to the decision in a statement posted to the Privy Council of Montescano. Shahanshah Deñiz reacted by temporarily suspending the Tsardom of Pavlov Act, dissolving the Divan (although the incumbent cabinet was to continue serving as an acting government until its formal dissolution) and announcing new elections.

Background

Tsardom of Pavlov Act

On February 29, following the failure of private negotiations between the Shahanshah and the Prime Minister to reach a decision, the matter was took to the Mejlis for a vote. The initial vote ended in a tie and caused an impasse, which the Shahanshah attempted to bypass by proposing a new motion allowing to make the final decision to settle tie votes. The Mejlis approved the proposal to allow the Shahanshah to settle tie votes and the decision regarding the merger was voted on again as the Tsardom of Pavlov Act. The result of the third vote concluded by 1 March and was the same as the initial vote, although the Shahanshah used his newly-granted power to pass the Act and quickly granted it royal assent thereafter.[1]
