Hasanistani neutrality

Hasani neutrality is the oldest foreign policy principle of Hasanistan, dictating armed neutrality and the rejection of involvement in foreign armed conflicts outside of the interest of self-defence of Hasanistan. The concept of neutrality has been included in most Hasanistani constitutions, including the current one, and both the long-ruling governments of Hasan Çakar and Tanju Çakar have claimed to adhere to the principle.

Hasanistani neutrality is currently elaborated under Article 9 of the Sixth Constitution of Hasanistan, which states:

Hasanistan shall be a Neutral State, pursuing a policy of peace and goodwill to all other Nations. Hasanistan shall refrain from joining military alliances, limit interference in the affairs of other nations and instead promote peaceful, friendly and mutually beneficial international relationships. The policy of Neutrality shall not nullify Hasanistan's right to defend its sovereignty, territory and citizens. Hasanistan shall have the right to have a standing military adequately equipped to deter and repel threats if considered necessary and the right to declare war on enemy nations and entities. The nature of the Hasanistani military shall be defined by Law. The power to declare war shall only be used as a last resort, requiring to be approved with popular confidence through representatives or referendum, but may be declared pre-emptively with sufficient evidence for a hostile threat.
