The Islamic Democrats Group (Hasani: İslam Demokratlar Grubu, IDG or İDG) is an Islamic-democratic political group in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Batyraq Pact, established by Hasan Çakar on 22 December 2021. The IDG promotes Islamic values and regards itself as a catch-all for all pro-Islamic politicians and movements, such as the Islamic left, Islamic conservatives, Islamists and even secularists. It states that it welcomes a variety of Islamic schools of thoughts, ranging from modernist and progressive Muslims to traditionalist Muslims.
Principles
The self-described principles of the Islamic Democrats Group are:
- Promotion of the social values of Islam as underpinning society in Greater Hasanistan.
- Implementing an economy that works for the people, achieves social justice, supports families and enables Islamic values.
- Preserving a healthy environment.
- Support for oppressed Muslim peoples, such as the Palestinians, Uyghurs, Rohingya and Crimean Tatars.
- Strengthened ties between Hasanistan and the State Union.
