Aristes offically known as the Republic of Aristes is a new cultural project commonly refered to as a micronation in Greece and the Netherlands.
Admainstrative Divisions
The Republic is administratively divided into six districts, locally referred to as "cortos." These districts serve several important purposes within the governance and structure of the nation. Primarily, they exist to provide essential municipal services tailored to the needs of the local population, ensuring that residents have access to infrastructure, public utilities, and community programs. Additionally, the division into districts helps to manage the Republic more effectively by breaking it into smaller, more manageable regions. At the district level, governance is handled by a local council known as the Gopbina di Cortos. These councils are composed of members elected directly by the citizens of the district. They are responsible for managing local affairs, crafting policies, and ensuring that the district's unique needs are addressed. One of the council's key responsibilities is appointing the mayor, who acts as the executive head of the district. The mayor's role includes overseeing the implementation of council decisions, coordinating municipal operations, and representing the district in both official and community matters.
Each district also functions as an electoral constituency for the National Assembly of Astries.
