The Ardajan Affair was a decade long conflict between various Ardajani seperatist organizations (mainly Korijgya, APDF and AUFNS), the Ardajani provincial government and the central government of Hasanistan (which was often refered to as Batyr by the seperatists) The conflict was primarily political and nationalistic, fuelled by Viadalvian imperialism and a desire to annex Northren Hasanistan into Viadalvia, Aswell the North Hasani opposition towards president Tanju Cakar, Altough the Viadalvian government was very reserved to claim North Hasanistan. A key issue after the collapse of Korijgya and eventual Viadalvian support for Hasani territorial integrity was the status of Ardajan within Hasanistan with the Ardajani government desiring more autonomy while more radical groups want to seceede from Hasanistan. Autonomists were mostly Turkish, wanted Northern Hasanistan to remain within Hasanistan while Viadalvians wanted Northern Hasanistan to leave Hasanistan and join a united Viadalvia. The area was left in Hasani control. However, and the Hasani government set up an autonomous region known as Ardajan Shortly after the secessionists attempted to influence the policies of the new autonomous region but was banned by Premier Shady Morsi due to fear of Hasani and later Pavlovian retaliation

The "conflict" is by definition, a series of hostility as opposed to a war, as the only fighting was the early insurgency in Viadalvian territories: which is included as being linked to the hostilities, plus the diplomatic crisis between President Shady Morsi of Viadalvia and President Tanju Cakar however not entirely part of them.

Attempts to get support for an independent Ardajani state failed miserably. As Hasanistans allies recognizes North Hasanistan as an integerial part of Hasanistan. the Republic of Akebar refered Ardajan as the "Scotland of Hasanistan". Though the autonomous government also lobbied for a referendum on North Hasanistani independence but failed due to Progressive veto's and later Hasanistan joining the Empire of Pavlov.

Upon the Viadalvian Police (and in lesser extent in pro-Viadalvian states) who cracked down on Ardajani seperatism. Many seperatists where arrested to appease the then Second Hasani Republic due to Viadalvian fear of losing credibility the rebels responded by leaving and proclaiming various Ardajani republics a standoff lasted for about half an hour Between the Ardajan People's Democratic Front and the Viadalvian national police
